Hail, brothers and sisters!

Today I brought my solution to a few problems we had about effect application from Chat Messages.

With a new context menu that shows up when you click an Apply button, you are able to choose any actor you have access to!

The main goal of this was to allow people who don't use tokens in the canvas to be able to make use of automations!

I hope you enjoy it. More to come!

Have a nice week!

Chat Message Changes

Clicking on an Apply button now opens a context menu to select the Actor to apply the effect.

The actor list is broken down into an ordered list of 4 groups:

  1. The original Target (Bullseye icon): If the effect had a target specified, it's shown here (the current behavior).
  2. The User's Character (User icon): If the user has a Character assigned to them, it will be shown here for quick access.
  3. Tokens in Scene (Users in a viewfinder icon): All tokens that can be observed will appear here.
  4. Actors (Users icon): All actor sheets that can be observed by the user will appear here.

Each actor in the list has:

  • Its name.
  • An icon representing the actor.
  • It's UUID (hover the icon to check it).

If you click on an actor on the list, the instant effect will be applied to it!

Other Changes

  • Apply buttons are now displayed even if a target was not selected.
  • Added "Banes to roll against your " to possible Active Effects.
