Ultimate Tex
Installation
Download the ZIP file or executable with the correct operating system and extract it. Most users will want to download the Ultimate Tex desktop application. The CLI version is designed to run from a terminal or command prompt. Check the steps below for your operating system if the application still fails to launch properly.
Windows Installation Instructions
Ultimate Tex for Windows requires the Visual C++ 2015 runtime, which can be downloaded from https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe. This only needs to be installed once.
Mac OS Installation Instructions
MacOS users should select the appropriate build for their system. Macs using the M1 chip or newer should select the file ending in apple_silicon. Older macs need to use the file ending in intel. Ultimate Tex isn't released through the Apple App Store or signed with an Apple Developer ID. You may see a warning that the application "can't be checked for malicious software". Follow the steps on the apple support page to open and run the application. These steps only need to be done once every time the application is downloaded.
Linux users should use 0.2.2 until build issues are fixed.

Linux Installation Instructions
This release uses the system webview instead of a graphics API like Vulkan for rendering. This may impact compatibility on Linux distributions. Builds have been tested to work on a clean installation of Ubuntu 22.04. Please report any compatibility or installation issues by making a new issue and listing your operating system and architecture like "Arch Linux x86-64" or "SteamOS SteamDeck".
