Why this would be helpful

Often, you don't need much variety with report messages, for example if the topic is a guide, spam or a duplicate.

How this addon works

This addon would add some report templates to the forum page. These could be 100% customizable with the table setting type.

Possible alternatives

Some prior work:

  • GitHub's saved replies
  • Forum Enhancements on Mega Scratch Userscript, which has a different scope of doing "Support" or "No support" on posts on Suggestions.
Hey, this suggestion is also by mybearworld. What are the chances?

And now, in response to @WorldLanguages...

This will have higher chances of being merged if the templates aren't customizable. For that level of customization, general-purpose extensions can help populate textareas with user-defined templates.

Hard disagree. I would say to go to the extremes, either (a) expand it to be as customizable as it can get, including on studio, user, and project replies (browser limitations aside), or (b) do not implement it at all, as the scope gives too little value in my opinion. I'm leaning towards the former, as it seems that it is nonsense to limit it to such arbitrary templates when making it customizable is possible, and because the latter is the status quo.

Also, I would like to see what examples of the so called "general-purpose extensions" that supports this use case, just like how I can give prior work to support this use case.

PS. Discussing in the PR is possible, but I would do it here instead. Otherwise we should stop creating issues before PR just so the issue poster don't waste time creating one.

I do agree the scope of the addon is too limited. I think it should be expanded to the rest of the forums but I'm not sure how useful it would be outside the forums though because of the lower character limits and no formatting. I'm not against customization and if the scope of the addon is widened I think the templates should be fully customizable. I just thought if it is kept as just report template addon it would be better as one of those simple smaller addons without any settings.

The problem with doing it for more than just the report page is that the rest of the site mostly consists of actual discussions. Using templates there wouldn't work great for most posts.

Things like rejected, duplicate and others may still be useful
