Kurbits-rpi is a tool for curating twitter archives running on a Raspberry-PI. This software builds upon the work of DocNow! twarc a Python library for archiving Twitter JSON data.
Kurbits will (soon) be distrbuted as an img-file that can be transferd to a SD-card
The kurbits is an invented, fantastical symbol principally used for ornamentation in Swedish folk art and on painted furniture and domestic objects. Very popular between 1720 and 1870, particularly in Dalarna and southern Norrland. Dalecarlian horses, are probably the most famous artifacts painted in the kurbits style.
As a word game Kurbits can be an abbrivation of "kulturarvs-bits" which translates to culture heritage bits (With a little good imagination) Artist Tove Bengtsson took the idea of classic kurbits ornamentation and mixed in web preservation, spider and a bit!
