Add option to use expanded toolbar design #1294
Comments
I'd be okay with a PR to make it an option, but I think unified should be the default. We should try to stick as close to latest macOS as possible. |
This issue has been marked as stale because it has not had recent activity. It will be closed if no further activity occurs. |
It might be stale, but it's not solved. |
Oh yes, this was a shocker for me, my eyes can't handle the unified toolbar (and I cannot send PR unfortunately) – it makes the whole design feel very clumsy. |
I'd love for this to be an option too, the new 'unified' look doesn't lend itself to windows with large titles - very cluttered. I prefer having the DB dropdown directly above the table list as before (which isn't possible with this look) |
This would help for me too, i was going to request a change to the window title order to show the favourite name before the db version because it would be helpful (and safer) to be able to see if i'm on a live production database, or my local dev ones... expanded would help with that too, so 👍 |
Any update on this??? I think is more clear to have it expanded |
Same for me, the unified toolbar makes me search for the buttons I'm looking for whereas previous versions were way more intuitive to use. Additionally the Flexible Space doesn't seem to do anything therefore I cannot force the buttons to be toward the left of the screen where it would already be more convenient. |
Hello,
Would it be possible to add an option to use the expanded toolbar instead of the unified toolbar? I know the unified toolbar is the new 'Big Sur design' but with long the title bar the old design looks much cleaner and is more practical. As far as I know Apple isn't forcing this unified design on applications where it doesn't make sense. If making it configurable isn't possible please consider using the expanded toolbar by default. I think a lot of people will prefer that style.

Unified toolbar (current)
Expanded toolbar (changed MainWindow Toolbar Style)
Thanks.
