The database selector could be moved to the left bar at the top.

This logically makes sense because the database and the database tables are related.

Likewise, the users button can be moved to a small icon on the bottom of the left pane.

One trick that kinda worked for me: i added many "space" items to the right of the toolbar. Thus, this pushes all the icons to the left, and the "database" selector remains near the "tables" pane.

Application toolbar with custom configuration: database selector appears on the left because the right part is artificially filled with spaces.
