These steps provide an easy explanation on how to set up a 24/7 dedicated Minecraft server for you and your community to play on.

There are many server solutions out there, but I am using Bisect Hosting as an example. Because of a partnership with them I'm able to provide you with a 25% off promo code for your first purchase. The Steps:

  1. Head over to https://bisecthosting.com/serilum (Ctrl + click to open in new tab). You will be redirected to their homepage.

  1. When satisfied with their server features, click on SEE MINECRAFT PLANS.

  1. You can view their full list of minecraft server hosting plans and prices, or follow the process where they recommend a server for you. We'll do the latter. Enter your username in the text input and press GO! to continue.

  1. The following choice depends on your mod preferences. Because all my mods are currently coded within the Forge framework, we're going to choose a Forge server. Press the Forge tab.

  1. Let's choose the latest Forge release by checking the box, Forge Latest 1.16.5 and press NEXT.

  1. Here we choose a server optimized for 15 people, but of course choose however many you'd like. Then press NEXT.

  1. BisectHosting provides two types of services. The premium service has more features, but you may only need the budget service. For this example we'll choose the premium service. If you'd like so as well, press CHOOSE PREMIUM.

  1. If you're new to the modding scene it might be advisable to choose advanced support. For this example we'll skip this feature, but feel free to check the box to add it to your package. Click NEXT.

  1. On the following page we can choose the server location. The further a server location is away from a player, the higher their ping will be. Choose a server closest to you or choose somewhere in the middle. It's up to you! For this example we'll put the server in the United Kingdom (UK). Click on a server and press NEXT.

  1. Bisect Hosting will now recommend a package based on what you've chosen in the previous steps. The price specified is still without the 25% off promo code. If it's not what you were looking for, there are more options if you scroll down the page. For the example we're satisfied with their choice. Press ORDER to continue.

  1. Here you'll find an overview of what you've chosen. Make sure everything's correct. For the server to work you'll have the accept Mojang's EULA and check the box. You can also receive some free stickers. When done press Continue ->.

  1. On the Review & Checkout page you can enter the SERILUM promo code to receive 25% off your order. Type the code in the text input area and press Validate Code >>.

  1. The promotion code should now be accepted and the discount will be applied to your subtotal. Make sure the total is correct, and press Checkout ->.

  1. Enter your personal information and payment details if you're ready to order the server. When done press Complete Order ->.

  1. After your payment has gone through, you'll receive an email with your server information. Here you'll find your server's IP address and the username and password of the management panel. Head over to https://premium.bisecthosting.com/ (Ctrl + click to open in new tab) to configure your server.

  1. Input the login information shown in the confirmation email. It's recommended to change the password to something else after you've logged in.

  1. This is the homepage of the management panel. To see your server click on MY SERVERS at the top of the page.
