Jerboa v0.0.38-lollipop

A lot of the rocky issues we were facing related to SortTypes were solved in LemmyNet#918, so thank you to @MV-GH for that. That fixed is merged upstream and included in this release. Things should be a lot smoother and less crashy. This release is mainly a modification to support Android 5.0.

Most instances have updated to 0.18. I am not including 0.17.x support in this release: please use my 0.0.36-lollipop-plus-2 or 0.0.34-hotfix-1 builds for now. Send me a message on Lemmy: Rentlar@lemmy.ca asking for specific version support and I'll look into maybe releasing a special modified version.

standalone binary works like a separate app (just changed the application ID, while the other binary acts like an update to dessalines' version.

Jerboa v0.0.36-lollipop-plus

Good news! I updated to the latest commit which should get rid of some of the issues that arose at the v35/v36 release version from dessalines.

It also includes my tweak to allow BOTH Lemmy 0.17.x and 0.18 versions to connect, the dialog that said your version is too low has warning text instead.

Still supports Android 5.0 and up as always.

Updated everything to match the v35 release on dessalines' repository. Still supports Android 5.0 and up.

You cannot login to instances running 0.17.x or lower on this version of my app, please use my v34 hotfix version if you would like to.

Lemmy v 0.18 breaks Jerboa apps v.34 and below for now.

I modified the app so that you can login to servers still running 0.17.x or lower. You cannot log in with this app to Lemmy v0.18 servers.

I added anonymous browsing features available specially on this version experimentally. How to browse another instance anonymously:

• Sign out of all accounts on Jerboa
• Go to Log in page
• Type in an Instance
• Leave Username and Password Empty
• Press Log in.
• Navigate back to the homepage.

Jerboa v0.0.34plus-lollipop-fixed (but then broken again, use hotfix version above)

Latest version with certain app-breaking regressions fixed. You can use this or the stable version until v.0.35 comes out. (I recommend using Hotfix version instead since Lemmy 0.18 breaks things)

There seems to be some regressions with the new update sooooooo I'm providing a release based on the last released version from dessalines. Use this one if you want to use the webview and image viewer properly. (I recommend using the hotfix version of v34 over this)

Added in many new features that were included upstream as of June 15, also includes comment sorting! Note this is a development release until 0.35 is released on the main repository

Put something together to support the latest commit as of writing (June 6 2023) into an app that supports browsing Lemmy on Android versions 5 through 7.

I am releasing it in the hopes that the app is useful and accessible to more users, but use it at your own risk. Signed by me.
