Steps to Reproduce the Problem

  1. Set config value areaMode to "SERVER_WIDE".
  2. OPTIONAL: set changePerSecond to 0.1 to increase difficulty faster, for easier testing.
  3. Join server. Wait a minute or two to allow difficulty to increase. /sh_difficulty get should show the same difficulty for player and area.
  4. Disconnect from server. Wait a minute or two to allow area difficulty to increase.
  5. Rejoin server. Run /sh_difficulty get. Area difficulty will now be higher than player difficulty.
  6. Kill a mob. Run /sh_difficulty get. Area difficulty will have dropped down to match the lower player difficulty.
