  • Tested to run on RHEL 8 Beta as well.
  • The hwlist command when run on virtual systems would skip certain details as RAM, CPU etc.,
  • Enhanced a few coding lines to trim out non-real network interfaces names when run.

  • Now, it is released as binary rpm which can be easily installed on target systems.
  • The bundled tar archive file "hwlist-2.0-1.tar.gz" which consist of two files: "hwlist-2.0-1.noarch.rpm" (binary) & "RPM-GPG-KEY-hwlist" PGP public key block file.
  • Either use 'wget' command and download both package/key file, otherwise, download the tar file and follow instructions as per the site (http://simplylinuxfaq.blogspot.in/p/how-to-find-hardware-details-in-linux.html)
  • More details are added to the help section of the command (hwlist --help).
