Where is the code relevant to the database?

Sorry this isn't really an issue, but asking on Stackoverflow received no answers unfortunately.

I'm looking for the code that manipulates the Source, Thumbnail, and ThumbnailDimensions tables so that I can disable them. There doesn't appear to be a setting that can do this.

Since the thumbnail is being generated post-save, it can be assumed that all thumbnails exist at all times and no checks will be necessary, so this database checking can be disabled.
