The new Giants I3D addon has the possibility of setting a prefix for object names for sorting purposes, which will then be removed for the final output in the i3d file. We should implement something similar.

I have a suggestion on sorting the scenegraph in both Blender and GE.
if you added an alternative object name box like the alternative i3d mapping name you could add "number_" to object name to sort in blender objects in blender and have clean names on export.

Add a feature similar to the one found in the Giants exporter, where a prefix can be used to
determine the ordering, which will then be removed by the exporter for the i3d file naming. The
prefix is entirely customisable and the ordering in the i3d will follow the same ordering as is
present in the Blender outliner
