FAQ2: Slow updates of lovelave UI

ShellyforHASS is able to use more than a way to discover and communicate with Shelly devices.
Results are based on your network Access point, router and configuration.

In order of preference:

• CoAP message
• CoAP discovery (only discovery)
• mDNS (only discovery)
• poll

Only the first one is able to give a realtime, in sync feedback between your device and HA.
CoAP messages are sent from the Shelly devices when something is updated and repeated like every 10 seconds as well.

If you don’t see CoAP-msg under protocols for your entity, then you have to rely on polling and give up on real time updates. You can set the scan-interval lower to increase the update but not lower than 5 seconds is recommended.

If CoAP-msg doesn’t work, you can try to enable/disable IGMP in your router or switch and see if that helps.
