Based on changes introduced in #34 and 865ca60, the aggregate news API (CurrentsAPI) no longer supplies any specific countries' news that used to be present in the previous implementation. We now solely depend on RSS definitions for country-specific news in the $news command.

Each new entry must fulfill the following:

  • News must always be in given country's language(s) (e.g. no English news about Sweden)
  • News must be domestic at least indirectly (e.g. no Swedish news in Swedish about foreign affairs)
  • At least one base news website URL provided
  • All endpoints must be valid RSS
  • One or more RSS endpoints per site (will be randomly chosen each time the command is run)
  • If you'd like credit, add your username in the "helpers" array (this is shown on the supinic.com website's command help as credit)

For specific info, check the JSON definitions file as reference.

In c2357ea a major rework was implemented, where each ExtraNews language can have multiple site sources. The description of this issue was edited accordingly.
