First of all: Thanks to the Tanstack team for the awesome product. We migrated to Tanstack Table v8 even though a critical feature is still not working for us (see below), simply because the rest is awesome. Developer experience so far is 10/10 for me.
My problem: I would like to implement a column action, triggered by a button in the column header (so far no issue) that sets a state or attribute to a column (not a row). Why? In the product, I want the user to be able to select columns that he wants to export. The columns not selected should be grayed out (not invisible, else I would use visibility).
My question to the team / the community: Is there a native way or a best practice (e.g. experience that worked well for one of you) of either defining custom column actions or passing a state/attribute to a column? As "column visibility" is a thing, it seems to be that there are at least some ways to interact column-wise. I would be fine with either somehow modifying the visibility function (if I can overwrite it such that invisible = 50% opacity instead of actually invisible) or using some meta attribute. So far, I was simply not successful in locating any examples or APIs in the docs that mention a related problem.
