TcNo Account Switcher - Discord

On this page:

How does the program work?

Collecting info (Locally only): Discord stores all your information in the %AppData%\Discord folder. This application swaps out those files, swapping your account.

  • The Local Storage, Session Storage and blob_storage folders from %AppData%\Discord\ are copied in their entirety to a Login Cache folder for your account.
  • Files starting with "data_" and the "index" file from the Cache folder, in %AppData%\Discord are also copied into a local folder when a 'new user' is added. This will be swapped out later.

Switching accounts:

  • Any process with Discord will be killed/closed. [You will need to remember to close normally in order to save an account first].
  • The files mentioned above are swapped out for a local copy from another account.
  • {DiscordInstallLocation}\{latest_version}\Discord.exe is started. Discord does not "need" to be open or closed while switching accounts. Everything is automated.

Managing accounts

Adding accounts to the Discord Switcher list:

This is important as it's different to other platforms in the TcNo Account Switcher. Discord saves data after closing normally. Take note and follow these steps closely.

  1. Be logged into a discord account. If you just logged in, quit discord fully - not through the task manager. Right-click the task tray icon and select Quit.
  2. Click the Save Current.
  3. You'll now notice an unfamiliar box. You now have 2 options.
  • Enter a username or
  • To have the correct username, and your profile picture (including animated ones) automatically:
    1. Click the Copy button on the left.
    2. Open your Discord client. You will need Developer Mode turned on in Discord User Settings > Advanced > Developer Mode
    3. Hit Ctrl+Shift+I and head to the Console tab.
    4. Paste it in, hit enter and you should see a success message. You now have a special bit of text copied.
    5. Paste said special text into the text input box where you would write your username. Your profile image will download after submitting, and your username will be filled out - including your number. In other words TechNobo#1337.

Do not "sign out" via Discord, this will "forget that accounts password".

Signing into new accounts in the Discord Switcher

  1. Click the Add New button.
  2. Discord will restart, and ask you to input the user/pass. Enter the new details. After login completes, make sure to quit Discord normally by Right-clicking the task tray icon and selecting Quit. Then click Save Current in the TcNo Account Switcher - Discord list, next to the login button. You should be able to switch to and from this account.

Removing accounts from the list:

To remove an account from the list: Right-click on an account and hit "Forget". This will remove the saved, or 'cached' local files and the account will no longer show on the Account Switcher's list.

Removing accounts manually (errors)

Head to %AppData%\TcNo Account Switcher\LoginCache\Discord (Just paste that into the Run box - Start+R or as the path in Windows explorer. You can now remove entire folders for accounts you want to manually remove.
