Installation

🗒️ NOTE: 🗒️
Some Linux and BSD distributions have begun including AppImageLauncher among their sets of preinstalled packages. Look and see if yours is one of them before continuing with the manual installation instructions below.

DEB package (Debian and derivatives such as Ubuntu, Linux Mint, et al.)

Please visit the Installing on Ubuntu/Debian page.

RPM package (RHEL/Fedora, SUSE, et al.)

We provide official RPM packages for download and installation of every tagged release on the repository's Releases page.

AUR package (Arch Linux and derivatives such as EndeavourOS, KaOS, et al.)

AppImageLauncher is available as two community-maintained (unofficial) packages in the Arch User Repository (AUR).

Commands to install them using pacman and some of the more popular AUR helpers are:

Stable release

  • Yay
    yay -S appimagelauncher
  • Paru
    paru -S appimagelauncher

Nightly release

  • Yay
    yay -S appimagelauncher-git
  • Paru
    paru -S appimagelauncher-git

Manjaro

AppImageLauncher comes preinstalled on most editions of Manjaro. If it doesn't appear to be functioning, try a manual installation with Pamac using the following commands:

  • Stable release
    pamac build appimagelauncher
  • Nightly release
    pamac build appimagelauncher-git

Unsupported distributions

Regrettably, with limited developer resources, AppImageLauncher cannot be natively packaged for every Linux distribution. We are aware of a lack of support for the following distributions and would gladly welcome pull requests that provide the packaging toolchain and configuration for:

  • Elementary OS
