Xubuntu 14.04, make fails [partclone_xfs-xfsclone.o] Error 1

I'm trying to get partclone to build from source because the version provided within the normal Xubuntu repo's for 14.04.1 wasn't working to mount a clonezilla image I had created of my old / partition (ext4). So after tons of downloading all the extra patched libraries (from here: http://free.nchc.org.tw/drbl-core/pool/drbl/dev/ ) and installing them I finally got

./configure --enabel-ncursesw --enable-all

to work BUT now when I try to run
make it fails and I'm at a loss as to why because i've made sure i installed all the patched xfs libraries?

i have both xfslibs-dev_3.2.1+drbl1_amd64.deb and xfsprogs_3.2.1+drbl1_amd64.deb installed from the patched libraries?
