Several bug fixes after helpful comments from the reviewers. Among other things, several bugs for Mac have been resolved, we updated the layout to be more user friendly and transparent, and the repository how has a Zenodo static link, doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.1146653.

Restructuring widgets to get CPU usage down

It looks like a QGraphicsView within a QLayout within a QSlicer is not a
good idea. Probably some circular updating going on, not quite sure.
