e.g. 90% gets/10% sets, for a realistic test of tcp connections

Netflix/rend has a benchmarking implementation that may help.

What's the average cpu usage for the process? How does this compare to twemproxy (likely worse)
What are the percentiles for query durations? (rend has code to generate this)
Does disabling/enabling batching help?
Look into -cpuprofile hotspots
