TUFF DOS Launch Checklist

Jaxon Lee edited this page Oct 25, 2022 · 2 revisions

Required Materials 🧱

  1. TUFF payload
  2. Scale
  3. Calibration weight

TUFF's Pre-Flight Routine 📋

  1. Turn TUFF on
    1. The "on" button is the switch on the side.
    2. Ensure it's hanging and completely still. The more still it is, the more accurate the gyro/accelerometer will be.
  2. Put calibration weight on TUFF
    1. Keep it on for a few minutes and take note of the time. We can go back through the data after the launch and pinpoint the time we put the calibration weight on and check to see that TUFF measured it correctly.
  3. Weigh the payloads below TUFF with the scale and take note of the weight, if possible.
  4. Ask someone to tie TUFF onto the balloon flightline
  5. Double check that TUFF is on

This is what TUFF looks like. Note: the "on" button is circled in green, and "I" means TUFF is on. TUFF is off in this picture.
