Set up container (Docker) #3
Comments
Obviously I'm not on this project, but I'm interested in containers for the
projects I am on. I just looked at the docker website about the pricing (
https://www.docker.com/blog/updating-product-subscriptions/) and this makes
me think it will continue to be for free since we are doing non-commercial
and open source projects.

- Docker is the top choice, though subscriptions will be required to
use Docker Desktop at the end of January 2022.
- Current practice
<https://code.usgs.gov/wma/wp/pump-temperature#containerization-docker-and-singularity>
is to host a repository on code.usgs.gov, and mirror on
code.ch.usgs.gov.

Thanks Jeff! I agree that it seems like we ought to fall in the "non-commercial open source" category. However, Docker also has an FAQ that lays the pricing structure out in more detail. It specifies that government employees should always be under a paid subscription. |
Ah. Thanks for pointing that out. That's too bad. |
