We want a containerized solution.

  • Docker is the top choice, though subscriptions will be required to use Docker Desktop at the end of January 2022.
  • Current practice is to host a repository on code.usgs.gov, and mirror on code.ch.usgs.gov.

Thanks Jeff! I agree that it seems like we ought to fall in the "non-commercial open source" category. However, Docker also has an FAQ that lays the pricing structure out in more detail. It specifies that government employees should always be under a paid subscription.
