Should we post jobs in Europe?

My opinion is yes, as long as there is no explicit prohibition against US applicants (and I did not see one in this case). A US-based RSE may be looking for a great opportunity to go work in Europe and I wouldn't want to deny them that.

Hmm - should we maybe have a different section? My worry is that our board is going to be harder to navigate for someone looking for a US-based job. I don't think we should turn away outside-US jobs, but I think we should separate them so it's clear, and someone looking for one or the other doesn't have to sift through both!

Agreed, I'd definitely expect the "regular" section of US-RSE jobs to feature RSE jobs one can do from the US. At least in my case, jobs requiring me to move to Switzerland would have been irritating clutter. The postdoc aspect is already a confounder even without that extra dimension.

Just when it seems like things are already complicated, now European jobs? Another good problem to have, but we need to come to a consensus as a group. Let's have a discussion on slack about how to come up with a more robust policy.

For this particular instance, I'd vote to suggest to the original requestor that they post elsewhere, rather than flat out refuse. I'd rather link to boards that post in other countries. (We already do this somewhat by linking to the SocRSE vacancies page).
