wasmi-labs/wasmi#572 has been implemented in wasmi. Next release will make this feature available. You can already use it now by tagging the commit if you want to test it out.

Version 0.21.0 of wasmi has just been released which adds support for concurrent Wasm executions and therefore support host functions calling Wasm functions. :)

@Robbepop Thank you very much! Now wasmi is the default engine and enables us building for much more targets.
