The current UI presents layout information registered with the system as is. However, to understand exactly which device(s) a given layout supports, one has to have understanding of those layouts.
That should not be necessary.
In the UI, presentation of the various device options should be clear and unambiguous.
For example, at the layout level, an Xbox controller on Windows is a different layout than an Xbox controller on OSX. We do have XInputController but it's exactly relationship to the layouts defined based on it is unclear to the user. Same for XboxOneController which confusingly is only used for Xbox One controllers on the Xbox One but not for the same controller connected on other platforms.
