Everything was working ok for me until I just got home and tried to start TF2. I have been playing it for a couple weeks fine.
It started an update, 558.4 megs I believe. After the update when I try and start it, it gets to the loading screen with the little black loading box in the bottom right and the nice light picture in the background, then freezes.
Its just sitting there. This is not something it was doing before.

That'd be the Mecha Update; I also had to wait a little bit longer (on Windows, haven't tried it out on Linux yet), but after that I just got to the main menu as usual. Did it actually show up the "Not responding" dialog, or did it just take a really long time without any visible progress?
I left it for over an hour. On Ubuntu I didnt get a Not Responding dialog, but the window itself dimmed as they do when they are frozen (although they usually come back from that state.) After an hour I give up, I restart it and try again. It doesnt come back. It just sits there frozen.
