When freeing a large folio, we must remove it from the deferred split list before we uncharge it as each memcg has its own deferred split list (with associated lock) and removing a folio from the deferred split list while holding the wrong lock will corrupt that list and cause various related problems. My recent change to put_pages_list() dereferences folio->lru.next after returning the folio to the page allocator. Usually this is now on the pcp list with other free folios, so we try to free an already-free folio. This only happens with lists that have more than 15 entries, so it wasn't immediately discovered. Revert to using list_for_each_safe() so we dereference lru.next before disposing of the folio. Users of UFFDIO_CONTINUE may reasonably assume that a write memory barrier is included as part of UFFDIO_CONTINUE. That is, a user may believe that all writes it has done to a page that it is now UFFDIO_CONTINUE'ing are guaranteed to be visible to anyone subsequently reading the page through the newly mapped virtual memory region. Today, such a user happens to be correct. mmget_not_zero(), for example, is called as part of UFFDIO_CONTINUE (and comes before any PTE updates), and it implicitly gives us a write barrier. To be resilient against future changes, include an explicit smp_wmb(). While we're at it, optimize the smp_wmb() that is already incidentally present for the HugeTLB case. Merely making a syscall does not generally imply the memory ordering constraints that we need (including on x86). …failure With cache_trim_mode on, reclaim logic doesn't bother reclaiming anon pages. However, it should be more careful to use the mode because it's going to prevent anon pages from being reclaimed even if there are a huge number of anon pages that are cold and should be reclaimed. Even worse, that leads kswapd_failures to reach MAX_RECLAIM_RETRIES and stopping kswapd from functioning until direct reclaim eventually works to resume kswapd. So kswapd needs to retry its scan priority loop with cache_trim_mode off again if the mode doesn't work for reclaim. The problematic behavior can be reproduced by: CONFIG_NUMA_BALANCING enabled sysctl_numa_balancing_mode set to NUMA_BALANCING_MEMORY_TIERING numa node0 (8GB local memory, 16 CPUs) numa node1 (8GB slow tier memory, no CPUs) Sequence: 1) echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches 2) To emulate the system with full of cold memory in local DRAM, run the following dummy program and never touch the region: mmap(0, 8 * 1024 * 1024 * 1024, PROT_READ | PROT_WRITE, MAP_ANONYMOUS | MAP_PRIVATE | MAP_POPULATE, -1, 0); 3) Run any memory intensive work e.g. XSBench. 4) Check if numa balancing is working e.i. promotion/demotion. 5) Iterate 1) ~ 4) until numa balancing stops. With this, you could see that promotion/demotion are not working because kswapd has stopped due to ->kswapd_failures >= MAX_RECLAIM_RETRIES. Patch series "selftests/mm: Improve Hugepage Test Handling in MM Selftests", v2. This series addresses issues related to hugepage requirements in the MM selftests, ensuring tests are skipped rather than failing when the necessary hugepage count is not met. This adjustment allows for a more graceful handling for systems with insufficient hugepages, preventing unnecessary test failures and improving the overall robustness of the test suite. This patch (of 3): On systems that have large core counts and large page sizes, but limited memory, the userfaultfd test hugepage requirement is too large. Exiting early due to missing one test's requirements is a rather aggressive strategy, and prevents a lot of other tests from running. Remove the early exit to prevent this. Raw NAND The main series brought is an update of the Broadcom support to support all BCMBCA SoCs and their specificity (ECC, write protection, configuration straps), plus a few misc fixes and changes in the main driver. Device tree updates are also part of this PR, initially because of a misunderstanding on my side. The STM32_FMC2 controller driver is also upgraded to properly support MP1 and MP25 SoCs. A new compatible is added for an Atmel flavor. Among all these feature changes, there is as well a load of continuous read related fixes, avoiding more corner conditions and clarifying the logic. Finally a few miscellaneous fixes are made to the core, the lpx32xx_mlc, fsl_lbc, Meson and Atmel controller driver, as well as final one in the Hynix vendor driver. SPI-NAND The ESMT support has been extended to match 5 bytes ID to avoid collisions. Winbond support on its side receives support for W25N04KV chips.

…l/git/clk/linux Pull clk updates from Stephen Boyd: "Not a ton of stuff happening in the clk framework. We got some more devm helpers and we seem to be going in the direction of "just turn this stuff on already and leave me alone!" with the addition of a devm_clk_bulk_get_all_enable() API. I'm hoping that we can make that into a pmdomain that drivers attach instead, but this API should help drivers simplify in the meantime. Outside of the devm wrappers, we've got the usual clk driver updates that are dominated by the major phone SoC vendors (Samsung and Qualcomm) and the non-critical driver fixes for things like incorrect topology descriptions and wrong registers or bit fields. More details are below, but I'd say that it looks pretty ordinary. The only thing that really jumps out at me is the Renesas clk driver that's ignoring clks that are assigned to remote processors in DeviceTree. That's a new feature that they're using to avoid marking clks as CLK_IGNORE_UNUSED based on the configuration of the system. Core: - Increase dev_id len for clkdev lookups - Add a devm_clk_bulk_get_all_enable() API to get and enable all clks for a device - Add a devm variant of clk_rate_exclusive_get() New Drivers: - Display, TCSR, GPU, and Camera clock controllers for Qualcomm's X1 Elite SoC - Google GS101 PERIC0 and PERIC1 clock controllers - Exynos850 PDMA clocks - Exynos850 CPU cluster 0 and 1 (CMU_CPUCLK0/CMU_CPUCLK1) clock controllers Removed Drivers: - Remove the unused Qualcomm sc7180 modem clk driver Updates: - Fix some static checker errors in the Hisilicon clk driver - Polarfire MSSPLL hardware has 4 output clocks (the driver supported previously only one output); each of these 4 outputs feed dividers and the output of each divider feed individual hardware blocks (e.g. CAN, Crypto, eMMC); individual hardware block drivers need to control their clocks thus clock driver support was added for all MSSPLL output clocks - Typo fixes in the Qualcomm IPQ5018 GCC driver - Add "qdss_at" clk on Qualcomm IPQ6018, needed for WiFi - Properly terminate frequency tables in different Qualcomm clk drivers - Add MDSS, crypto, and SDCC resets on Qualcomm MSM8953 - Add missing UFS CLKREF clks on Qualcomm SC8180X - Avoid significant delays during boot by adding a softdep on rpmhpd to Qualcomm SDM845 gcc driver - Add QUPv3 RCGS w/ DFS and video resets to Qualcomm SM8150 GCC driver - Fix the custom GPU GX "do-nothing" method in the Qualcomm GDSC driver - Add an external regulator to GX GDSC on Qualcomm SC8280XP GPU clk driver - Switch display, GPU, video, and camera Qualcomm clk drivers to module_platform_driver() - Set a longer delay for Venus resets on many Qualcomm SoCs - Correct the GDSC wait times in the Qualcomm SDM845 display clk driver - Fix clock listing Oops on Amlogic axg - New pll-rate for Rockchip rk3568 - i2s rate improvements for Rockchip rk3399 - Rockchip rk3588 syscon clock fixes and removal of overall clock-number from the rk3588 binding header - A prerequisite for later improvements to the Rockchip rk3588 linked clocks - Minor clean-ups and error handling improvements in both composite-8m and SCU i.MX clock drivers - Fix for SAI_MCLK_SEL definition for i.MX8MP - Register the Samsung CMU MISC clock controller earlier, so the Multi Core Timer clocksource can use it on Google GS101 - Propagate Exynos850 SPI IPCLK rate change to parents, so the SPI will get proper clock rates - Refactor the generic Samsung CPU clock controllers code, preparing it for supporting Exynos850 CPU clocks - Fix some clk kerneldoc warnings - Add Ethernet, SDHI, DMA, and HyperFLASH/QSPI (RPC-IF) clocks on Renesas R-Car V4M - Ignore all clocks which are assigned to a non-Linux system in the Renesas clk driver - Add watchdog clock on Renesas RZ/G3S - Add camera (CRU) clock and reset on Renesas RZ/G2UL - Add support for the Renesas R-Car V4M (R8A779H0) SoC - Convert some clk bindings to YAML so they can be validated" * tag 'clk-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/clk/linux: (150 commits) clk: zynq: Prevent null pointer dereference caused by kmalloc failure clk: fractional-divider: Use bit operations consistently clk: fractional-divider: Move mask calculations out of lock clk: Fix clk_core_get NULL dereference clk: starfive: jh7110-vout: Convert to platform remove callback returning void clk: starfive: jh7110-isp: Convert to platform remove callback returning void clk: imx: imx8-acm: Convert to platform remove callback returning void clk: qcom: gcc-ipq5018: fix register offset for GCC_UBI0_AXI_ARES reset clk: qcom: gcc-ipq5018: fix 'halt_reg' offset of 'gcc_pcie1_pipe_clk' clk: qcom: gcc-ipq5018: fix 'enable_reg' offset of 'gcc_gmac0_sys_clk' clk: qcom: camcc-x1e80100: Fix missing DT_IFACE enum in x1e80100 camcc clk: qcom: mmcc-msm8974: fix terminating of frequency table arrays clk: qcom: mmcc-apq8084: fix terminating of frequency table arrays clk: qcom: camcc-sc8280xp: fix terminating of frequency table arrays clk: qcom: gcc-ipq9574: fix terminating of frequency table arrays clk: qcom: gcc-ipq8074: fix terminating of frequency table arrays clk: qcom: gcc-ipq6018: fix terminating of frequency table arrays clk: qcom: gcc-ipq5018: fix terminating of frequency table arrays clk: mediatek: clk-mt8173-apmixedsys: Use common error handling code in clk_mt8173_apmixed_probe() clk: Add a devm variant of clk_rate_exclusive_get() ...

Pull kvm updates from Paolo Bonzini: "S390: - Changes to FPU handling came in via the main s390 pull request - Only deliver to the guest the SCLP events that userspace has requested - More virtual vs physical address fixes (only a cleanup since virtual and physical address spaces are currently the same) - Fix selftests undefined behavior x86: - Fix a restriction that the guest can't program a PMU event whose encoding matches an architectural event that isn't included in the guest CPUID. The enumeration of an architectural event only says that if a CPU supports an architectural event, then the event can be programmed *using the architectural encoding*. The enumeration does NOT say anything about the encoding when the CPU doesn't report support the event *in general*. It might support it, and it might support it using the same encoding that made it into the architectural PMU spec - Fix a variety of bugs in KVM's emulation of RDPMC (more details on individual commits) and add a selftest to verify KVM correctly emulates RDMPC, counter availability, and a variety of other PMC-related behaviors that depend on guest CPUID and therefore are easier to validate with selftests than with custom guests (aka kvm-unit-tests) - Zero out PMU state on AMD if the virtual PMU is disabled, it does not cause any bug but it wastes time in various cases where KVM would check if a PMC event needs to be synthesized - Optimize triggering of emulated events, with a nice ~10% performance improvement in VM-Exit microbenchmarks when a vPMU is exposed to the guest - Tighten the check for "PMI in guest" to reduce false positives if an NMI arrives in the host while KVM is handling an IRQ VM-Exit - Fix a bug where KVM would report stale/bogus exit qualification information when exiting to userspace with an internal error exit code - Add a VMX flag in /proc/cpuinfo to report 5-level EPT support - Rework TDP MMU root unload, free, and alloc to run with mmu_lock held for read, e.g. to avoid serializing vCPUs when userspace deletes a memslot - Tear down TDP MMU page tables at 4KiB granularity (used to be 1GiB). KVM doesn't support yielding in the middle of processing a zap, and 1GiB granularity resulted in multi-millisecond lags that are quite impolite for CONFIG_PREEMPT kernels - Allocate write-tracking metadata on-demand to avoid the memory overhead when a kernel is built with i915 virtualization support but the workloads use neither shadow paging nor i915 virtualization - Explicitly initialize a variety of on-stack variables in the emulator that triggered KMSAN false positives - Fix the debugregs ABI for 32-bit KVM - Rework the "force immediate exit" code so that vendor code ultimately decides how and when to force the exit, which allowed some optimization for both Intel and AMD - Fix a long-standing bug where kvm_has_noapic_vcpu could be left elevated if vCPU creation ultimately failed, causing extra unnecessary work - Cleanup the logic for checking if the currently loaded vCPU is in-kernel - Harden against underflowing the active mmu_notifier invalidation count, so that "bad" invalidations (usually due to bugs elsehwere in the kernel) are detected earlier and are less likely to hang the kernel x86 Xen emulation: - Overlay pages can now be cached based on host virtual address, instead of guest physical addresses. This removes the need to reconfigure and invalidate the cache if the guest changes the gpa but the underlying host virtual address remains the same - When possible, use a single host TSC value when computing the deadline for Xen timers in order to improve the accuracy of the timer emulation - Inject pending upcall events when the vCPU software-enables its APIC to fix a bug where an upcall can be lost (and to follow Xen's behavior) - Fall back to the slow path instead of warning if "fast" IRQ delivery of Xen events fails, e.g. if the guest has aliased xAPIC IDs RISC-V: - Support exception and interrupt handling in selftests - New self test for RISC-V architectural timer (Sstc extension) - New extension support (Ztso, Zacas) - Support userspace emulation of random number seed CSRs ARM: - Infrastructure for building KVM's trap configuration based on the architectural features (or lack thereof) advertised in the VM's ID registers - Support for mapping vfio-pci BARs as Normal-NC (vaguely similar to x86's WC) at stage-2, improving the performance of interacting with assigned devices that can tolerate it - Conversion of KVM's representation of LPIs to an xarray, utilized to address serialization some of the serialization on the LPI injection path - Support for _architectural_ VHE-only systems, advertised through the absence of FEAT_E2H0 in the CPU's ID register - Miscellaneous cleanups, fixes, and spelling corrections to KVM and selftests LoongArch: - Set reserved bits as zero in CPUCFG - Start SW timer only when vcpu is blocking - Do not restart SW timer when it is expired - Remove unnecessary CSR register saving during enter guest - Misc cleanups and fixes as usual Generic: - Clean up Kconfig by removing CONFIG_HAVE_KVM, which was basically always true on all architectures except MIPS (where Kconfig determines the available depending on CPU capabilities). It is replaced either by an architecture-dependent symbol for MIPS, and IS_ENABLED(CONFIG_KVM) everywhere else - Factor common "select" statements in common code instead of requiring each architecture to specify it - Remove thoroughly obsolete APIs from the uapi headers - Move architecture-dependent stuff to uapi/asm/kvm.h - Always flush the async page fault workqueue when a work item is being removed, especially during vCPU destruction, to ensure that there are no workers running in KVM code when all references to KVM-the-module are gone, i.e. to prevent a very unlikely use-after-free if kvm.ko is unloaded - Grab a reference to the VM's mm_struct in the async #PF worker itself instead of gifting the worker a reference, so that there's no need to remember to *conditionally* clean up after the worker Selftests: - Reduce boilerplate especially when utilize selftest TAP infrastructure - Add basic smoke tests for SEV and SEV-ES, along with a pile of library support for handling private/encrypted/protected memory - Fix benign bugs where tests neglect to close() guest_memfd files" * tag 'for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/virt/kvm/kvm: (246 commits) selftests: kvm: remove meaningless assignments in Makefiles KVM: riscv: selftests: Add Zacas extension to get-reg-list test RISC-V: KVM: Allow Zacas extension for Guest/VM KVM: riscv: selftests: Add Ztso extension to get-reg-list test RISC-V: KVM: Allow Ztso extension for Guest/VM RISC-V: KVM: Forward SEED CSR access to user space KVM: riscv: selftests: Add sstc timer test KVM: riscv: selftests: Change vcpu_has_ext to a common function KVM: riscv: selftests: Add guest helper to get vcpu id KVM: riscv: selftests: Add exception handling support LoongArch: KVM: Remove unnecessary CSR register saving during enter guest LoongArch: KVM: Do not restart SW timer when it is expired LoongArch: KVM: Start SW timer only when vcpu is blocking LoongArch: KVM: Set reserved bits as zero in CPUCFG KVM: selftests: Explicitly close guest_memfd files in some gmem tests KVM: x86/xen: fix recursive deadlock in timer injection KVM: pfncache: simplify locking and make more self-contained KVM: x86/xen: remove WARN_ON_ONCE() with false positives in evtchn delivery KVM: x86/xen: inject vCPU upcall vector when local APIC is enabled KVM: x86/xen: improve accuracy of Xen timers ...
Pull VFIO updates from Alex Williamson: - Add warning in unlikely case that device is not captured with driver_override (Kunwu Chan) - Error handling improvements in mlx5-vfio-pci to detect firmware tracking object error states, logging of firmware error syndrom, and releasing of firmware resources in aborted migration sequence (Yishai Hadas) - Correct an un-alphabetized VFIO MAINTAINERS entry (Alex Williamson) - Make the mdev_bus_type const and also make the class struct const for a couple of the vfio-mdev sample drivers (Ricardo B. Marliere) - Addition of a new vfio-pci variant driver for the GPU of NVIDIA's Grace-Hopper superchip. During initialization of the chip-to-chip interconnect in this hardware module, the PCI BARs of the device become unused in favor of a faster, coherent mechanism for exposing device memory. This driver primarily changes the VFIO representation of the device to masquerade this coherent aperture to replace the physical PCI BARs for userspace drivers. This also incorporates use of a new vma flag allowing KVM to use write combining attributes for uncached device memory (Ankit Agrawal) - Reset fixes and cleanups for the pds-vfio-pci driver. Save and restore files were previously leaked if the device didn't pass through an error state, this is resolved and later re-fixed to prevent access to the now freed files. Reset handling is also refactored to remove the complicated deferred reset mechanism (Brett Creeley) - Remove some references to pl330 in the vfio-platform amba driver (Geert Uytterhoeven) - Remove twice redundant and ugly code to unpin incidental pins of the zero-page (Alex Williamson) - Deferred reset logic is also removed from the hisi-acc-vfio-pci driver as a simplification (Shameer Kolothum) - Enforce that mlx5-vfio-pci devices must support PRE_COPY and remove resulting unnecessary code. There is no device firmware that has been available publicly without this support (Yishai Hadas) - Switch over to using the .remove_new callback for vfio-platform in support of the broader transition for a void remove function (Uwe Kleine-König) - Resolve multiple issues in interrupt code for VFIO bus drivers that allow calling eventfd_signal() on a NULL context. … later checking" This reverts commits 99101dd and b80b701. Linus reports that the sysreg reserved bit checks in KVM have led to build failures, arising from commit fdd867f ("arm64/sysreg: Add register fields for ID_AA64DFR1_EL1") giving meaning to fields that were previously RES0. Of course, this is a genuine issue, since KVM's sysreg emulation depends heavily on the definition of reserved fields. But at this point the build breakage is far more offensive, and the right course of action is to revert and retry later. All of these build-time assertions were on by default before commit 99101dd ("KVM: arm64: Make build-time check of RES0/RES1 bits optional"), so deliberately revert it all atomically to avoid introducing further breakage of bisection. Petr Machata says: ==================== mlxsw: Support for nexthop group statistics ECMP is a fundamental component in L3 designs. However, it's fragile. Many factors influence whether an ECMP group will operate as intended: hash policy (i.e. the set of fields that contribute to ECMP hash calculation), neighbor validity, hash seed (which might lead to polarization) or the type of ECMP group used (hash-threshold or resilient). At the same time, collection of statistics that would help an operator determine that the group performs as desired, is difficult. Support for nexthop group statistics and their HW collection has been introduced recently. In this patch set, add HW stats collection support to mlxsw. This patchset progresses as follows: - Patches #1 and #2 add nexthop IDs to notifiers. - Patches #3 and #4 are code-shaping. - Patches #5, #6 and #7 adjust the flow counter code. - Patches #8 and #9 add HW nexthop counters. - Patch #10 adjusts the HW counter code to allow sharing the same counter for several resilient group buckets with the same NH ID. - Patch #11 adds a selftest. ==================== Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/cover.1709901020.git.petrm@nvidia.com Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>

The loop inside nfs_netfs_issue_read() currently does not disable interrupts while iterating through pages in the xarray to submit for NFS read. This is not safe though since after taking xa_lock, another page in the mapping could be processed for writeback inside an interrupt, and deadlock can occur. The fix is simple and clean if we use xa_for_each_range(), which handles the iteration with RCU while reducing code complexity. The problem is easily reproduced with the following test: mount -o vers=3,fsc 127.0.0.1:/export /mnt/nfs dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/nfs/file1.bin bs=4096 count=1 echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches dd if=/mnt/nfs/file1.bin of=/dev/null umount /mnt/nfs On the console with a lockdep-enabled kernel a message similar to the following will be seen: ================================ WARNING: inconsistent lock state 6.7.0-lockdbg+ #10 Not tainted -------------------------------- inconsistent {IN-SOFTIRQ-W} -> {SOFTIRQ-ON-W} usage. test5/1708 [HC0[0]:SC0[0]:HE1:SE1] takes: ffff888127baa598 (&xa->xa_lock#4){+.?.}-{3:3}, at: nfs_netfs_issue_read+0x1b2/0x4b0 [nfs] {IN-SOFTIRQ-W} state was registered at: lock_acquire+0x144/0x380 _raw_spin_lock_irqsave+0x4e/0xa0 __folio_end_writeback+0x17e/0x5c0 folio_end_writeback+0x93/0x1b0 iomap_finish_ioend+0xeb/0x6a0 blk_update_request+0x204/0x7f0 blk_mq_end_request+0x30/0x1c0 blk_complete_reqs+0x7e/0xa0 __do_softirq+0x113/0x544 __irq_exit_rcu+0xfe/0x120 irq_exit_rcu+0xe/0x20 sysvec_call_function_single+0x6f/0x90 asm_sysvec_call_function_single+0x1a/0x20 pv_native_safe_halt+0xf/0x20 default_idle+0x9/0x20 default_idle_call+0x67/0xa0 do_idle+0x2b5/0x300 cpu_startup_entry+0x34/0x40 start_secondary+0x19d/0x1c0 secondary_startup_64_no_verify+0x18f/0x19b irq event stamp: 176891 hardirqs last enabled at (176891): [<ffffffffa67a0be4>] _raw_spin_unlock_irqrestore+0x44/0x60 hardirqs last disabled at (176890): [<ffffffffa67a0899>] _raw_spin_lock_irqsave+0x79/0xa0 softirqs last enabled at (176646): [<ffffffffa515d91e>] __irq_exit_rcu+0xfe/0x120 softirqs last disabled at (176633): [<ffffffffa515d91e>] __irq_exit_rcu+0xfe/0x120 other info that might help us debug this: Possible unsafe locking scenario: CPU0 ---- lock(&xa->xa_lock#4); <Interrupt> lock(&xa->xa_lock#4); *** DEADLOCK *** 2 locks held by test5/1708: #0: ffff888127baa498 (&sb->s_type->i_mutex_key#22){++++}-{4:4}, at: nfs_start_io_read+0x28/0x90 [nfs] #1: ffff888127baa650 (mapping.invalidate_lock#3){.+.+}-{4:4}, at: page_cache_ra_unbounded+0xa4/0x280 stack backtrace: CPU: 6 PID: 1708 Comm: test5 Kdump: loaded Not tainted 6.7.0-lockdbg+ Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (Q35 + ICH9, 2009), BIOS 1.16.3-1.fc39 04/01/2014 Call Trace: dump_stack_lvl+0x5b/0x90 mark_lock+0xb3f/0xd20 __lock_acquire+0x77b/0x3360 _raw_spin_lock+0x34/0x80 nfs_netfs_issue_read+0x1b2/0x4b0 [nfs] netfs_begin_read+0x77f/0x980 [netfs] nfs_netfs_readahead+0x45/0x60 [nfs] nfs_readahead+0x323/0x5a0 [nfs] read_pages+0xf3/0x5c0 page_cache_ra_unbounded+0x1c8/0x280 filemap_get_pages+0x38c/0xae0 filemap_read+0x206/0x5e0 nfs_file_read+0xb7/0x140 [nfs] vfs_read+0x2a9/0x460 ksys_read+0xb7/0x140 Fixes: 000dbe0 ("NFS: Convert buffered read paths to use netfs when fscache is enabled") Suggested-by: Jeff Layton <jlayton@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Dave Wysochanski <dwysocha@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Jeff Layton <jlayton@kernel.org> Reviewed-by: David Howells <dhowells@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <trond.myklebust@hammerspace.com>

…ables.c syzkaller started to report a warning below [0] after consuming the commit 4654467 ("netfilter: arptables: allow xtables-nft only builds"). The change accidentally removed the dependency on NETFILTER_FAMILY_ARP from IP_NF_ARPTABLES. If NF_TABLES_ARP is not enabled on Kconfig, NETFILTER_FAMILY_ARP will be removed and some code necessary for arptables will not be compiled. $ grep -E "(NETFILTER_FAMILY_ARP|IP_NF_ARPTABLES|NF_TABLES_ARP)" .config CONFIG_NETFILTER_FAMILY_ARP=y # CONFIG_NF_TABLES_ARP is not set CONFIG_IP_NF_ARPTABLES=y $ make olddefconfig $ grep -E "(NETFILTER_FAMILY_ARP|IP_NF_ARPTABLES|NF_TABLES_ARP)" .config # CONFIG_NF_TABLES_ARP is not set CONFIG_IP_NF_ARPTABLES=y So, when nf_register_net_hooks() is called for arptables, it will trigger the splat below. Now IP_NF_ARPTABLES is only enabled by IP_NF_ARPFILTER, so let's restore the dependency on NETFILTER_FAMILY_ARP in IP_NF_ARPFILTER. vhost_worker will call tun call backs to receive packets. If too many illegal packets arrives, tun_do_read will keep dumping packet contents. When console is enabled, it will costs much more cpu time to dump packet and soft lockup will be detected. net_ratelimit mechanism can be used to limit the dumping rate. When LSE atomics are available, BPF atomic instructions are implemented as single ARM64 atomic instructions, therefore it is easy to enable these in bpf_arena using the currently available exception handling setup. LL_SC atomics use loops and therefore would need more work to enable in bpf_arena. Enable LSE atomics based instructions in bpf_arena and use the bpf_jit_supports_insn() callback to reject atomics in bpf_arena if LSE atomics are not available. All atomics and arena_atomics selftests are passing: [root@ip-172-31-2-216 bpf]# ./test_progs -a atomics,arena_atomics #3/1 arena_atomics/add:OK #3/2 arena_atomics/sub:OK #3/3 arena_atomics/and:OK #3/4 arena_atomics/or:OK #3/5 arena_atomics/xor:OK #3/6 arena_atomics/cmpxchg:OK #3/7 arena_atomics/xchg:OK #3 arena_atomics:OK #10/1 atomics/add:OK #10/2 atomics/sub:OK #10/3 atomics/and:OK #10/4 atomics/or:OK #10/5 atomics/xor:OK #10/6 atomics/cmpxchg:OK #10/7 atomics/xchg:OK #10 atomics:OK Summary: 2/14 PASSED, 0 SKIPPED, 0 FAILED Signed-off-by: Puranjay Mohan <puranjay@kernel.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20240426161116.441-1-puranjay@kernel.org Signed-off-by: Alexei Starovoitov <ast@kernel.org>

…/git/pablo/gtp Pablo neira Ayuso says: ==================== gtp pull request 24-05-07 This v3 includes: - fix for clang uninitialized variable per Jakub. - address Smatch and Coccinelle reports per Simon - remove inline in new IPv6 support per Simon - fix memleaks in netlink control plane per Simon -o- The following patchset contains IPv6 GTP driver support for net-next, this also includes IPv6 over IPv4 and vice-versa: Patch #1 removes a unnecessary stack variable initialization in the socket routine. Patch #2 deals with GTP extension headers. This variable length extension header to decapsulate packets accordingly. Otherwise, packets are dropped when these extension headers are present which breaks interoperation with other non-Linux based GTP implementations. Patch #3 prepares for IPv6 support by moving IPv4 specific fields in PDP context objects to a union. Patch #4 adds IPv6 support while retaining backward compatibility. Three new attributes allows to declare an IPv6 GTP tunnel GTPA_FAMILY, GTPA_PEER_ADDR6 and GTPA_MS_ADDR6 as well as IFLA_GTP_LOCAL6 to declare the IPv6 GTP UDP socket. Up to this patch, only IPv6 outer in IPv6 inner is supported. Patch #5 uses IPv6 address /64 prefix for UE/MS in the inner headers. Unlike IPv4, which provides a 1:1 mapping between UE/MS, IPv6 tunnel encapsulates traffic for /64 address as specified by 3GPP TS. Patch has been split from Patch #4 to highlight this behaviour. Patch #6 passes up IPv6 link-local traffic, such as IPv6 SLAAC, for handling to userspace so they are handled as control packets. Patch #7 prepares to allow for GTP IPv4 over IPv6 and vice-versa by moving IP specific debugging out of the function to build IPv4 and IPv6 GTP packets. Patch #8 generalizes TOS/DSCP handling following similar approach as in the existing iptunnel infrastructure. Patch #9 adds a helper function to build an IPv4 GTP packet in the outer header. Patch #10 adds a helper function to build an IPv6 GTP packet in the outer header. Patch #11 adds support for GTP IPv4-over-IPv6 and vice-versa. Patch #12 allows to use the same TID/TEID (tunnel identifier) for inner IPv4 and IPv6 packets for better UE/MS dual stack integration. This series integrates with the osmocom.org project CI and TTCN-3 test infrastructure (Oliver Smith) as well as the userspace libgtpnl library. Thanks to Harald Welte, Oliver Smith and Pau Espin for reviewing and providing feedback through the osmocom.org redmine platform to make this happen. ==================== Signed-off-by: David S.
