Why not to suggest to install everything just via sudo pip install git+https://github.com/VitaliyRodnenko/geeknote.git? Seem to have worked for me and also kind of more "manageable".

Also, I'd say if you want distributions to be able to include Geeknote you should start versioning it by tagging in git. I'd like to make an ebuild for geeknote, but versions/tarballs are important in order to make that happen. Let me know if you need any help!
