Hey guys!

First of all thank you very much and congratulations to this very nice peace of software! It works great and looks great to me!

However there is a central feature missing, which keeps me from using it seriously as a replacement to ultrastar:
The microphone input levels are too low, in ultrastar there was an option to boost the selected input by some dezibel. I am using 2 microphones which are not identical, one would require a decent pre-amp boost, while the other would need a minor boost.

It would be really nice to have this feature implemented, i think there is a GStreamer plugin ready for this:
https://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/data/doc/gstreamer/head/gst-plugins-base-plugins/html/gst-plugins-base-plugins-volume.html

(As far as i could see by the libs installed you are using gstreamer).

If there is any other way to boost the microphone inputs, let me know!

I am using a Native Instrument Komplete Audio 6 USB-soundcard device (through WDM drivers) - which works great so far (
https://www.native-instruments.com/de/products/komplete/audio-interfaces/komplete-audio-6/
)

Thanks!

Hi @Matzepopatze,
thanks for your feedback and the feature request.

At the moment we are quite busy but we will have a look what we can do.

You might setup boost for your mics in windows recording settings?

I think he wants a per-channel-boost (windows doesn't support this as far as I know)

What microphones are you using?

If the microphones are on different levels, you should be able to just adjust the gain so that both microphones are on the same level. The soundcard you linked has indiviual gain for each channel.

If needed you can boost the interface gain up through the windows sound properties if they are too low when the channels are levelled against each other. I've run multiple Tascam US-16x08 together with a bunch of different microphones with and without phantom power at the same time without any soundlevel issues.

I personally feel that per-channel level adjustment would be out of scope for the vocaluxe software.
