If an entry is checked means that the corresponding issue has been solved, if unchecked means that has been not fixed yet.

Copyright

  • The HLP file has an embedded copyright string of Copyright © 1988-2003 Texas Instruments Incorporated, while the files themselves were last modified in mid-August 2004 (CNT) and towards the end of September 2004 (HLP), instead. The program reports a corect one of Copyright © 1988-2004 Texas Instruments Incorporated instead.

Formatting

  • Formatting is slightly broken in certain pages like Indices > Operators, due to HelpNDoc parsing tabulations as a sequence of spaces when generating HTML documentation.
  • Formatting in Built in Functions and Constants > Zeta Functions is slightly broken, also in the original.

Layout

  • Some topics have pretty unnoticeable stray newlines at the very beginning, like Table of contents.
  • A character in Built in Functions and Constants > Zeta Functions doesn't get shown correctly in HelpNDoc. There also should be some more topics where this happens.

Library items

  • A picture named BLUE is left unused, delete it from the HelpNDoc project if didn't become orphaned by mistake.

Links

  • Two internal links are broken in Menu Commands > Algebra Window > 3D-plot Window > File > File commands, specifically TI Handheld > Import from and TI Handheld > Export to.
  • Every external link is broken (nowadays most of them are just redirects to Texas Instruments' website or outright broken, but don't look good overall).
  • Every mailto: link is broken, too.
  • The whole documentation constains a Glossary and other topics like Default Color Palette or Rectangular Coordinates that are linked nowhere, also in the original documentation.

Text

  • Welcome to Derive 6 has a redundant Derive 6 heading at the very beginning.

Menu Commands

  • Menu Commands > Algebra Window > Simplify > Expand has a redundant > Expand command heading at the very beginning.
  • Menu Commands > Algebra Window > Simplify > Factor has a redundant > Factor command heading at the very beginning.
  • Menu Commands > Algebra Window > Simplify > Approximate has a redundant > Approximate command heading at the very beginning.
  • Menu Commands > Algebra Window > Solve > System has a redundant > System command heading at the very beginning.
  • Menu Commands > Algebra Window > Options > Display > Multi-line Expression Entry uses a different font than all the rest, but this inconsistency is also present in the original version.
  • Menu Commands > Algebra Window > Help > About Derive has a redundant > Derive command heading at the very beginning.
  • Menu Commands > 2D-plot Window > Edit > Delete All Slider Bars uses a different font than all the rest, but this inconsistency is also present in the original version.
  • Menu Commands > 2D-plot Window > Insert > Slider Bar uses a different font than all the rest, but this inconsistency is also present in the original version.
  • Menu Commands > 2D-plot Window > Help > About Derive has a redundant > Derive command heading at the very beginning.
  • Menu Commands > 3D-plot Window > Edit > Delete All Slider Bars uses a different font than all the rest, but this inconsistency is also present in the original version.
  • Menu Commands > 3D-plot Window > Insert > Slider Bar uses a different font than all the rest, but this inconsistency is also present in the original version.
  • Menu Commands > 3D-plot Window > Help > About Derive has a redundant > Derive command heading at the very beginning.

Discussion Topics

  • A double space separates the first two sentences in Discussion Topics > Displaying Expressions > Controlling Radix Base, that is also present in the original version. It's likely a copy-paste mistake made by whatever wrote the original one since the two phrases are very similar.
  • Discussion Topics > Derive Programming > Programming in DERIVE has a redundant Derive heading at the very beginning.
  • Discussion Topics > Derive Unicode Font > Derive Unicode has a redundant Unicode heading at the very beginning.

Indices

  • Indices > Constants has a redundant Constants heading at the very beginning.
  • Indices > Operators has a redundant Operators heading at the very beginning.
  • Indices > Reserved Names has a redundant Reserved System Names heading at the very beginning.

Topics

Behind-the-scenes

  • Several topics have completely cryptic and sometimes outright wrong names and wrong titles. They all get replaced on-the-fly while displaying the help file within Derive 6.1, as the included Table of Contents from a separate CNT file that HelpNDoc cannot parse, so they need to be adjusted manually.
  • Some topics have truncated HelpIDs because HelpNDoc cannot parse them, they need to be adjusted manually, but luckily HelpNDoc provides a way to refresh them en masse.

Seen by the User

  • An empty topic that is linked nowhere can be found near the end of the file, with an Help ID of CCQPHF and Help Context of 2. Seems to be some RoboHelp remnant that can be safely removed.
  • Part of topics belonging to the Menu Commands > 2D-plot Window and Menu Commands > 3D-plot Window group are duplicates of ones found inside Menu Commands > Algebra Window. Are mirrored on-the-fly by the RoboHelp DLL while loading the Table of Contents from a separate CNT file, for HelpNDoc they need to be manually duplicated since doesn't support this functionality.

HelpNDoc

  • Created with the Personal Edition of HelpNDoc, alongside randomized self-advertisement messages, is added in the footer of every page, should be easy to get rid of it.
