Describe the issue

Having a .po base file, downloading in a different format will not change the placeholder syntax

I already tried

  • I've read and searched the documentation.
  • I've searched for similar filed issues in this repository.

Having a .po base file, downloading in a different format will not change the placeholder syntax

Why should it change the syntax? Especially with the PO file, which supports numerous placeholder syntaxes.

It' s not limited to .PO Format. If you manage your translations i.e. in Android Native and want to download in iOS Native, they use different placeholder semantics. the ios native download will not work out of the box

This issue has been put aside. It is currently unclear if it will ever be implemented as it seems to cover too narrow of a use case or doesn't seem to fit into Weblate.

Please try to clarify the use case or consider proposing something more generic to make it useful to more users.
