Improved RGB Lighting Features #153
Comments
I would like to add to this an RGB layer to indicate active function layers. Mainly, I'd like to be able to highlight keys that are populated in the function layer. |
If I'm understanding this correctly it sounds like this feature request which I believe Simon commented on here and it sounds like this was PoC'd. @simon-wh any updates on this? I would also love this feature :) |
I'm still aiming to have it as part of the next update, but I've had many things to clean-up so it has been a bit delayed. I'm hoping to be able to get an alpha/beta out in the next few weeks (although can't make any promises just yet) |
Amazing. If I have time I will gladly help test when the alpha / beta is out (whenever that may be). Will it be tagged under this feature request or another one? Technically the comments from Muskrat1248 and myself are sort of related to "A layering system for effects" but the rest of the description is different. |
I have to admit, I have no idea what more I meant with my original comment but I am very excited nonetheless |
For the different Colour configurations for FN Layers, there's an issue for it on here as well: #131 so would be good to add any further discussion on the topic to there :) |
Loving the keyboard, but the lighting options leave a lot to be desired. I have a few suggestions:
A layering system for effects would be really cool. Having "Wave", "Breath", or "Cycle" running underneath typing effects opens the opportunity for some very interesting combinations. Additionally, you could blend multiple different typing effects.
I would like for us to have more control over the parameters of effects. Setting a custom range for the "Jelly" and "AOE" effects is definitely a must, as (in my opinion) the range of one is really small, and the other is way too large.
More control over the speed of effects like the "Ripple" and "Cycle" effect, which move too quickly for my liking.
Having control over the rate at which typing effects fade out would be nice. The "AOE" and "Jelly" effects finish immediately, which is a shame.
The trail effect is still too fast for my liking, even on the slowest setting. Would be nice to have it linger for longer.
It would also be really, really satisfying to control the "curves" of effects, to potentially make effects that fade in/out or move exponentially. Nonlinearity in visual effects is just generally really pleasing to look at.
