Our team documentation is important to Make team members old and new. The WordPress Marketing Handbook is constantly evolving to meet contributor needs. In order to continue improving, we need feedback and comments from readers.

Please read the content within the WordPress Marketing Handbook and provide feedback in the comments of this issue.

Consider some of the following questions while reading?

  • What information is missing?
  • What pieces are unclear?
  • What content seems outdated?
  • Is anything thin the handbook inaccurate?

Hi eidolonnight,
I've reviewed a handbook, and overall it's super organized, clear, and accurate containing all necessary information needed for any newbie.
I want to recommend that you add Don'ts under here the handbook. I found Do's, but it's good to have it in a table form under section.

That would be much easier for a new contributor to understanding guidelines fast.

Hi @eidolonnight,

I review WordPress Marketing Handbook. The marketing team did an excellent job in drafting the Handbook content.

I have found one point missing in SEO Standards for WordPress Copy Projects.

WordPress Post Excerpts

WordPress post excerpts are text summaries of posts and pages. They help visitors understand what the post is about in just a few sentences. Typically, these excerpts also contain a link so that the reader can easily read the whole post if they’re interested.

Excerpts important for SEO?

Yes, Excerpts are vital for your WordPress posts. They’re short snippets from your posts that you can display on your homepage or elsewhere. The more fine-tuned the excerpt, the faster your site can load. Plus, your SEO can improve, and the snippet can be the clincher to entice users to read your article.

Improve WordPress Excerpts for Better Performance, Traffic, and Engagement

Automatically Excerpts

WordPress will automatically create an excerpt for you that uses your post’s first 55 words.

Automatic excerpts are frequently a poor reflection of the article. Those first few words or sentences need to reflect your post with an excellent summary. Often, an introduction to an essay won’t convey that.

I want to recommend that you add this " WordPress Excerpts " Point here

Thank you @nimeshpatel-multidots @dave-kushal and @ronakganatra-multidots. Thank you for looking at this during your contributor event.

@eidolonnight do you want an entry for this each month or could we remove the date in the title? Could we adapt this for WordCamp Europe's Contributor Day? Thank you.

Handbook updates focusing specifically on the Get Involved and Guidelines for Meeting Notes sections are being considered in GitHub issues:

Additional feedback and updates can be handled with those and other more specific issues so I am closing this card.
