What problem does this address?

Many websites display text around the site title, especially in the site footer. For example, on GitHub, the footer title has a copyright character and the current year displayed before the name of the site:

In Twenty Twenty, the title is prepended by a copyright character and the current year, and appended with "Powered by WordPress".

Similar example from the Basecamp website:

To replicate this currently, you would need to replace the site title with a paragraph, in which case the actual title of the site won't be updated if the user changes the site title in Settings → General. Some users might also try to add information like in the examples above directly to the Site Title block, without realizing that the text they enter there will change the Site Title setting on the rest of the site as well.

What is your proposed solution?

I think it would be useful to allow for text to be added before and after the actual title in the Site Title block, maybe with a "plus" button appearing before and after the title contents when hovering the block (similar to how you add items to the Navigation block). Crude example mockup:

I also think it could be made more clear to users that changes they make to the title text in the Site Title block will affect the site as a whole, and not just that specific block. This is touched on in the block description in the sidebar, and the new site title is listed in the "Select the changes you want to save" view when you click "Update Design". The image below shows how the "Update Design" tab looks when I've changed the text of the Site Title block from "Tove" to "Astrid" in the footer template part.

I think this could be made more explicit, both in the block description and in the update design panel. There might even be a case for displaying a notice of some kind when the user clicks the block, before they start changing the text, since a lot of users might skip or miss the block description and the details in the "Update Design" tab.

  Current Suggestion
Block Description Displays and allows editing the name of the site. The site title usually appears in the browser title bar, in search results, and more. Also available in Settings > General. Displays the name of the site. Changing the text will update the title on the rest of the site as well. The site title appears in the browser title bar, in search results, and more. Also available in Settings > General.
