The post excerpt is amazing but it lacks some of the styling options of other blocks and perhaps it could have a few more to make it even more useful.

As you can see when compared in the same place as the Post content block, because it doesn't have layout it sits to one side:

It doesn't even have width controls:

My recommendation would be to bring those in if possible for this block.
