Description

We are not currently collecting descriptions for audio files in the Catalog DB, nor exposing this field in the API. We should!

Resolution

  • 馃檵 I would be interested in resolving this bug.

@zackkrida should we bump this down to medium priority given the blocking issue in the catalog is medium?

We do collect the descriptions for audio in the catalog whenever the providers have it in their API:

Jamendo does not surface the descriptions in their API response, even if the audio shows a description text in the UI (e.g., https://api.jamendo.com/v3.0/tracks/?client_id=your_client_id&id=2145829&include=musicinfo, https://www.jamendo.com/track/2145829/from-the-dark-150bpm)

The surfacing of the descriptions in the API is discussed in other issues (e.g. #1656)
