Description

The big DAO multisig (0xB33f8879d4608711cEBb623F293F8Da13B8A37c5, 8 of 13 consensus) re-launched earlier in 2023. Despite it only having been a few months, several keys have either become inactive, or projects have shut down. As part of key maintenance and security, BitGo proposes to remove 4 of these stale seats and to add an additional 5 addresses while also increasing the threshold to 9 of 14. This should keep the DAO more active and more secure by increasing the signing threshold.

Additionally, for ease-of-use, we are proposing a migration to a Gnosis Safe on app.safe.global

Summary of Changes

Current Big DAO Multi-sig: 0xB33f8879d4608711cEBb623F293F8Da13B8A37c5 will be deprecated.

New Big DAO Multi-sig: 0x5D3e580732396aC506E4B406cE5E62192A6501af will replace it.

All the teams mentioned have reached out to BitGo directly. Some conversations started off with interest in becoming a Merchant and some were more strategic / long term (bringing WBTC to more chains).
