List of Don'ts

Don'ts:

  • Use this project when it is raining or when too much dew is forming on equipments. As all electronics and cats, this box does not like that much water!
  • Plug power inputs into the power outputs of the AstroPi Cube. To avoid power losses via heat, I did not put reverse current protections (diodes). In facts, diodes would made loose lot of power by heat just by working normally. Thus, using a battery could be a more shorter experience! Don't drink to much and never forget that an INPUT is an INPUT and an OUTPUT is an OUTPUT.
  • Plug anything in the Raspberry USB-C input. Current would go back to voltage transformers and could damage the chipset, creating a short circuit to ground.
  • Plug anything else than modules in the Modules GX12-7 connections. This includes fingers.
  • Plug your tongue anywhere! However, 12v 3A is not dangerous for your fingers whatever the hole.

Better not:

  • Plugging and Unplugging Dew probes and heaters while Raspberry is ON. Although possible, it is better to avoid it. At least, try not unplug while raspberry is sending power to dew heaters.

Tips:

  • You can use a 12v 10A power supply to power a 12v 3A stuff! Power (Volts) is the important. Amps is just the maximum that your power supply can provide before being tired!
