Hundreds of thousands of dollars were spent on the Denver Nuggets’ championship festivities, according to a 9NEWS analysis of spending records. Private partners paid for most of the expenses for the June 2023 parade and celebration of the team’s first NBA championship.
Taxpayers paid the almost $300,000 bill for Denver employees to be on the job, mainly police.
The total spent between private donors and on city personnel was $897,728.72. Kroenke Sports & Entertainment gave the most, $440,000, according to event organizer Steve Sander.
