add multi-tabbed browsing (enhancement)

I see that the enhancement request "add multi windows" was closed recently. Is it possible to reconsider it?

A lot of recent android phones have large screens which would make a multi-tab bar very convenient.

IMO the "back" and "previous" buttons are a very limited option compared to multi tabs, especially when reading wikipedia articles that contain a lot of interesting links. It would be nice to be able to open a link in a new background tab as you read through the article.

This is not simple. This requires coming up with a new navigation paradigm for the whole application, and it must work well both for small and large screens, or maybe large and small screens need separate UIs. Also, Android's standard tab widget is ugly, takes up a lot of screen real estate and ability to customize it is very limited, so custom tabbing implementation might be in order, in addition to custom tab management. Basically, the whole UI needs to be re-written to resemble a web browser. This is not something that I personally want to work on, but if anyone wants to take a stab at it - by all means.
