Loading Screen Progress by theonlypwner
Issue 131 posted to Google Code on 2013 Jun 15 at 19:15:15

Current status: Acknowledged
Current labels: Type-Enhancement, Priority-Low, Component-UI, Usability

What new or enhanced feature are you proposing?
Have a progress bar and text to show the current task on the loading screen.

What goal would this enhancement help you achieve?
This would not help very much because ACR already loads very quickly.

It can load really slowly on some computers so it might be worth it. On windows 7 it occasionally seems to be freezing as it loads so some sign of what it is doing might be worthwile.

The problem is that it doesn't appear easy to add a progress bar when I read the code.

Another consideration is that adding a progress bar would slow down loading.

Changing the text to indicate what it's doing instead of the map text would make sense though.
