I'm an outsider of this community and I heard about the actix-web 1.0 release, congratulations! For an actor framework I think Actix is a great name. In the context of web development though the name is quite similar to activex, which has strong negative connotations, and since actix-web is a web framework it would be a shame to have phonetic associations with a negative thing. Have you considered naming Actix-web something like a famous actor or thespian from history? A play could also be a good name for this framework like Plutus. Thank you for your time and I wish you the best!

If you share my concerns a 1.0 release is definitely not too late for a name change. Most people have not heard of it. However it is your right to choose of course and you may have meant to imply that you don't believe this is a real concern. Again, of course I hope you are very successful actor frameworks are very cool!
