A more persistent find bar would be helpful, persisting through code clicks

Description

I feel the find bar functionality should be more persistent. I often use the find function to find multiple instances of the string and it's very frustrating that after using find and having the find bar appear, clicking on the code makes the bar disappear instantly.

Steps to Reproduce

1. ctrl-f / cmd-f
2. search text
3. click on code
4. find bar disappears
