We use z-index in a few places in brackets currently:

  • Scroller shadows
  • Selection triangle
  • CodeMirror (multiple occurrences)
  • toolbar

They feel like magic numbers. It would be nice to have LESS variable names to make their use more obvious, e.g. codeMirrorLayer + 1. I defer to @GarthDB or someone more knowledgable for suggestions.
