Technical accessibility

Alistair Duggin edited this page Nov 14, 2016 · 6 revisions

Technical accessibility is about users being able to control the interface, with or without assistive technology, by way of mouse, keyboard, touchscreen or other input device. That the user is able to orient in the navigation, access information and interact with the interface in the manner he or she wishes and needs.

In order to make this work the interface has to validate, comply with standards, use CSS, separate content from design, use the right elements and attributes in the code and so forth. It requires technical accessibility to avoid exluding blind, visually impaired, severe dyslectics, disabled and other persons from the website, app or the internal system.
