M4b format being a single file, not multiple m4b files? |
Yes, a single file.

Are you able to reproduce this consistently or is it only sometimes that it stops? |
I'm rather new to Audiobookshelf so I haven't played that many books. I
know it has happened on at least two different books. I was able to
reproduce it repeatedly today. Every time I returned to the previous
chapter, it would hang when the new chapter started.
I'm curious why it would act differently on Android Auto vs just playing
through Bluetooth.

Is this specific to some m4b files?

It doesn't make sense that it would be different for a single file audiobook. Abs is just passing the audio file to the Android media player and that is handling the playback controls. |

What was the Problem?
When listening to an audiobook via Android Auto, the audio stops playing at the end of a chapter. The book appears to continue playing due to the timer advancing.
Skip back and forward seem to work based on the timer but no audio. I have to pause the playback for about 10 seconds and then restart to get audio to resume.
Steps to Reproduce the Issue
Using Android Auto, select an audiobook that is m4b format with multiple chapters. Listen from the beginning of one chapter until the next. The audio should stop but the display will continue to show that it is still playing.
What was Expected?
I would expect the audio to not be affected by chapters. When listening on my headphones and not using Android Auto everything plays fine and progresses though the chapters without any pause in audio.
Phone Model
Pixel 7 Pro
Phone OS
Android 14
Audiobookshelf App Version
Android App - 0.9.74
Installation Source
Google Play Store
Additional Notes
I have seen this happen on two different phones, pixel 7 pro and Pixel 7 This has also occurred in two different vehicles.
Both times with different audio books, although both are m4b format.
