My server is not always on. With high electricity prices i turn on my server when needed. Most of my listening is therefore done offline using the iOS app.

I have noticed that my listening stats aren't updated when the server comes online. Progress is synced fine but my Recent Sessions doesn't show the offline sessions I've had.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Download a book to the app on iOS
  2. Turn off the server
  3. Listen to the book
  4. Turn on the server
  5. Stats are not appearing

Expected behaviour

  • When the server comes online again, i would expect listening stats to be send from the app to the server

Actual behaviour

  • No stats (just position) is send to the server

I had the same experience the other week using the Android app offline while using aeroplane mode for several days (was out of coverage area) - no listening stats for those days.

Note - I do get listening stats for Local books provided there is server connection while listening.

This still a Problem. I noticed the same behaviour on Android. Listening Sessions are recorded and correctly listed under "Recent Sessions" but they dont count for overall Statistics. Seems the offline Sessions never get synched once the Server becomes available again.

Is it possible the offline sessions are from books downloaded on or before server v2.2.24?

Because I cant rule out this possibility, I deleted the local audiobook I use for testing and re-downloaded it. Stopped the Server and startetd a short Session of a few Minutes. After that I killed the App, started the Server and restarted the App.
When I opened the Stats Page I noticed that again the Stats (Last 7 Days) did not change but the overall Stats (Minutes Listening) have. I was always just looking at the Last 7 Days Stats and did not notice the Minutes Listening in the upper right corner. So it seems only these Numbers do not update on offline playback. (they do update correctly when the server is reachable)

I just tested this on android and was able to reproduce it. I think it's an issue with the stats request from the server actually. Looking into it
