Biography:

Dr Patricia Agudelo-Romero hold an undergraduate engineering degree from the University of Llanos (Colombia) along with a Masters and PhD degree from The National School of Public Health of Spain and the Polytechnical University of Valencia. Since, she has held postdoctoral positions in the University of Lisbon (Portugal), as well as the University of Western Australia and the Telethon Kids Institute (Australia), elucidating the interactions of microorganisms and various hosts. Through her postdocs, she has demonstrated great agility transitioning from plant to medical science and established a research platform.

At Telethon, within the Wal-Yan Respiratory Research Centre, she is leading the bioinformatics research in the Airway Epithelial Research and P4 Respiratory Health for Kids teams, investigating host-microorganism interactions in chronic respiratory diseases. She has developed bioinformatics pipelines for omics integration and virome genomics, being selected for oral presentation in the European Respiratory Society Conference (2020) and the Thoracic Society of Australia (2021 and 2022).
