While submitting TvlSim as a package for Fedora/CentOS/RedHat (http://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=890772#c8), Felix Kaechele kindly noticed that the TvlSim binaries are linked against many libraries (e.g., libzmq.so), some of which are not actually used. Felix suggests to add the "-Wl,--as-needed" parameter to the LDFLAGS variable.
That suggestion has to be tested and assessed.
