Sorry to hear your having install issues. From that log, it seems like the problem is with npm. Did you try removing the file it's complaining about? I'll look into this when I get back to my apartment |

I was able to fix this by doing a manual install in the terminal just run: |

I flushed atom, the atom and apm binaries, the .atom directory and even the application itself. From scratch, here's what it looks like: If I try with sudo: |

I guess the problem arises while installing the PathWatcher module. I'll create an issue to remove that dependency. Maybe I'll have a separate branch that is PathWatcher-free |

Just pushed a nowatch branch that doesn't use PathWatcher. Hopefully it works for you. Apparently Node's FileWatcher is still unstable so I don't plan to removing PathWatcher from the apm version unless there is another alternative. |

Thanks @akonwi ! I would like to try it but the package manager doesn't exactly allow to specify a location to download the package from. Do you know how I could test this ? Appreciate it ! |

You should be able to clone the repo into
The third step will create a new branch that tracks the nowatch branch here |

Haven't had time to test until now. I had to use sudo apm install, otherwise it would fail. |

I just published an update that replaces The pathwatcher dependency with fs-plus. So I think it is safe to close this now |

@akonwi im currently having the same pathwatcher issue in my own project. Das fs-plus has a own stable filewatcher? |

@philipgiuliani the default fs in node has file watching. It isn't very robust but we replaced filewatching in this package with the atom api for subscribing to buffer events like saving and destroying. |

Thanks a lot @akonwi, im now using the fs fileWatcher. It fires some event twice, but im just processing a small amount of data on a change so its not a big problem. Thanks anyways for your help. Nice package 👍 |
